What happens when you put footballers on a netball court and challenge them to take on our skilled netballers? Pure chaos, endless laughs, and one of the best nights of the year at the Nest!
The Ultimate Club Mash-Up
Last night (Wednesday, 10 December 2025), we wrapped up 2025 in true Woodend Hesket style with our legendary Christmas Training & Mixed Netball Social Night. The clubrooms opened at 6pm with training sessions kicking things off, but the main event everyone was waiting for started at 7pm sharp – our footballers versus netballers in the ultimate mixed netball showdown.
Game On!
From the first whistle, it was clear this wasn't going to be your ordinary netball game. Our footballers brought their competitive spirit (and some questionable footwork), while our netballers showcased exactly why they're class A players. The result? Absolute entertainment for everyone watching from the sidelines.
The energy was electric, the banter was top-notch, and the skills... well, let's just say some were more impressive than others! But that's exactly what makes this night so special – it's not about perfection, it's about our club community coming together for a laugh and creating memories.

More Than Just a Game
What makes this night truly special isn't just the mixed netball madness – it's the chance for our entire club family to connect. Players, coaches, committee members, supporters, and families all came together in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. New friendships were formed, old ones strengthened, and everyone left with a smile on their face.
And let's not forget the legends who had a feed ready for us afterwards! A huge shoutout to our BBQ crew and everyone who helped make sure we were all well-fed after burning up the court. Nothing brings a community together quite like good food and good company.
Looking Ahead
As we close out 2025, nights like these remind us why we do what we do. Yes, we love winning premierships, and yes, we're incredibly proud of all our players achievements. But at our core, we're about building a community where everyone belongs, everyone has fun, and everyone leaves better than they arrived.
Already buzzing for 2026 and all the moments we'll create together next season!
