Grand Final Dreams Come True

Hawks A Grade Netball

Ready for the Ultimate Battle

The moment every player dreams of has arrived. This Saturday, September 13th at 1:40pm, our Hawks A Grade netballers will take to the court at Romsey Park for the biggest game of their season – the Grand Final against Riddell. After months of preparation, countless training sessions, and a season filled with heart-stopping victories, our girls have earned their place in the decider. Now it's time to turn dreams into reality.

The Journey to Grand Final Day

The path to this moment hasn't been easy. Every game this season has tested our resolve, pushed our limits, and strengthened the bonds within this incredible group. Through nail-biting victories and character-building challenges, these twelve women have proven they belong on the biggest stage. What makes this team special isn't just their individual talent – though there's plenty of that – it's their unwavering commitment to each other and the Hawks jersey. They've shown time and again that they're willing to dig deep when it matters most.

Meet Your Grand Final Warriors

The Shooting Power
Leading our attack is the formidable Rebecca Hicks, whose experience and netball intelligence make her a nightmare for any defense. Her ability to hold strong in the circle and deliver when the pressure is on has been crucial all season. Alongside her is Charlee Duff-Tytler, our athletic power shooter who was elevated straight from juniors to A Grade – a testament to her incredible talent. Charlee's accuracy and versatility, including her ability to swing into defense when needed, makes her invaluable. Don't let Natalie McDonald's age fool you – at just 16, she possesses netball smarts beyond her years. Her ring craft and shooting accuracy have single-handedly won games for us this season. Abby Gedge has been our revelation, returning to netball after years away and growing stronger every week. Her height and reliability under pressure in clutch moments have been outstanding.

The Midcourt Maestros
Laura Carland is the heartbeat of our team – our seasoned wing attack whose calm presence and beautiful feeding has been instrumental in our success. Her work rate and reliability on the transverse line sets the tone for our entire attacking structure. Sarah Duff epitomizes everything we love about homegrown Hawks. Her passionate leadership in the midcourt, combined with her never-give-up attitude and netball intelligence, makes her indispensable. Angelique Doherty represents the future of our club – still captaining our 19s while holding her own in A Grade. This pocket rocket brings speed, agility and determination that belies her recent elevation to this level. Mackenzie Brown is our secret weapon – a homegrown talent whose tenacity and 110% effort every second she's on court creates opportunities and momentum shifts when we need them most.

The Defensive Wall
At wing defense, captain Hayley Rogers is simply the best in the league. Her ability to read the play, combined with elite pressure and chase-down speed, creates the turnover ball that fuels our attack. Her leadership on court is inspiring. Tayissa Coppinger, our playing coach, is the complete package. Her dual role as coach and player requires incredible mental strength, and she delivers with elite defensive pressure, natural netball ability, and the leadership that drives our entire program. In the circle, Georgia Bowkett has been our quiet achiever, winning enormous amounts of ball with her stretch and intercepting ability. She's become the reliable last line of defense every team needs. Jessica Martin is another homegrown superstar who's proven she can compete with anyone at the highest level. Her pressure and positioning ability, both in the ring and outside it, has been exceptional.

The X-Factor: Team Unity

While individual brilliance wins moments, championships are won by teams. What sets these Hawks apart is their genuine care for each other. Watch them celebrate a teammate's success, support each other through difficult moments, or work together under pressure – this is a group that truly understands what it means to be part of something bigger than themselves.

Grand Final Day Atmosphere

Romsey Park will be electric this Saturday. The culmination of months of hard work, the support of families and friends, the weight of representing our proud club – it all comes together for 60 minutes of netball that will be remembered forever. For our players, this is their moment to show what Hawks netball is all about. For our supporters, it's a chance to be part of something truly special.

A Club United

This Grand Final run has energized our entire club. From our youngest juniors watching their heroes in action, to our senior players and volunteers rallying behind the team, the Hawks family has never been more united. These twelve women carry the hopes and dreams of everyone who has ever worn the brown and gold. They understand the privilege and responsibility that comes with representing Woodend Hesket Football Netball Club on the biggest stage.

The Final Countdown

Saturday at 1:40pm, when the whistle blows for the first center pass, months of preparation will be distilled into 60 minutes of pure competition. Our girls are ready – they've prepared physically, mentally, and emotionally for this moment. Riddell will bring their best, just as we will bring ours. That's what makes Grand Finals special – two teams at the peak of their powers, leaving everything on the court. But we know something special about these Hawks – they rise to the occasion. When the pressure is highest, when the stakes are greatest, this group finds another level.

Be Part of History

This is your invitation to be part of Hawks history. Pack Romsey Park with brown and gold, bring your voice, and help create an atmosphere that will lift our girls when they need it most. These moments don't come around often. This group of players may never get another chance like this. Let's make sure they know the entire Hawks family is behind them. Saturday, September 13th, 1:40pm, Romsey Park – where dreams become reality.
