Hawks Soar at RDFNL Senior Presentation Night
The Woodend-Hesket Hawks were well represented at the RDFNL Senior Presentation Night, with several players earning prestigious league-wide recognition for their outstanding 2025 season performances.
Individual Excellence
Daniel Toman capped off his exceptional season by claiming the Senior Men's Player of the Year award, a remarkable achievement that recognizes him as the best footballer across the entire Riddell District Football Netball League. This prestigious honor highlights Daniel's consistent excellence and impact throughout the season.
Tayissa Coppinger continued her dominance in netball, earning the A Grade Best Defender award. The playing coach was instrumental in the Hawks' three-peat success and was given the umpires' nod as best on court in the grand final victory. Her defensive partnership with Georgia Bowkett proved crucial to the Hawks' championship run.
Rising Stars Recognized
The future looks bright with Harrison Bate winning the Under 19.5 Goal Kicking award, showcasing his ability to find the goals consistently throughout the season. Brandon Jeffrey was also recognized as Under 19.5 Best Defender Runner Up, demonstrating the depth of talent in our junior ranks.
Team of the Year Honors
The Hawks' quality was further highlighted with representation in both the Romsey Dental 2025 Netball Team of the Year and Bendigo Bank 2025 Football Team of the Year. Tayissa Coppinger featured in the netball team, while Daniel Toman earned his spot as a ruck rover in the football team, cementing their status among the league's elite players.
