The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Football Coach to lead our senior football program. Applications are welcomed from both experienced playing coaches and non-playing senior coaches.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for player development, strong leadership, the ability to build a positive club culture and the tactical expertise to lead our senior program to sustained on-field success.
Working closely with the Football Committee, the successful coach will be supported in assembling and leading a collaborative assistant coaching panel to deliver specialist development across the senior football program.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and execute pre-season and in-season training programs tailored for both senior performance and youth development.
Work with the Football Committee to recruit, develop and lead a high-quality assistant coaching panel.
Implement a modern game plan that leverages a mix of experienced senior players and emerging local talent.
Actively mentor and transition players making the leap from under-age ranks to senior community football.
Manage player recruitment and retention in alignment with the RDFNL Player Points Policy and the full salary cap budget.
Foster a disciplined, inclusive, and professional club-first culture.
Selection Criteria
· Demonstrated coaching success at senior, elite reserves or high-performance junior level.
· Proven ability to recruit and develop an effective assistant coaching panel.
· Strong leadership, communication, culture-building and player development skills.
· Demonstrated ability to transition and retain junior players into senior football.
· Ability to work collaboratively with the Football Committee, volunteers and the broader club community.
· AFL Coach Accreditation (Level 2 preferred, or willingness to obtain).
· Current Working with Children Check.
Remuneration
A competitive remuneration and support package will be negotiated based on the successful applicant's experience, qualifications and vision for the club.
